REALLY?!?!?!?!

My brother went to jail this weekend. He had a warrant out for his arrest in West Chester for writing a fraudulent check. One of the checks (that he’d stolen from my mother) was written to some guy that lived in West Chester. AurGroup (my mom’s bank) sent a letter to this guy, after my mom pressed charges, wanting their money back. So, the guy went to West Chester police department and pressed charges against my brother saying he didn’t know he was receiving a bad check.

Personally, I think that’s CRAP but that’s beside the point.

So, my brother turned himself in. He told my mom and I that he had no other place to go and this would be a good opportunity to get himself cleaned up.

(insert angry face here) He went to court yesterday and they dropped the felony charge (of writing a fraudulent check) to a misdemeanor and released him.

W.T.F.

I’m so angry. Yes, I realize that I have no control over what the courts do but REALLY!?!?!?! He wrote a BAD check - a STOLEN bad check at that and he does FOUR days? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!

What a joke.

And let’s not even talk about the Hamilton Police Department. My mom has been playing phone tag with that detective for over a month now and he has yet to actually speak to her personally. As far as I know, nothing has been done about the 8 grand James took from my mom.

To say that I’ve lost almost all faith in the justice system, is an understatement.

And of course, James got out, called my parents and needed a place to stay last night. Both of them told him no. I was hoping he’d serve some time so my parents (and myself) would have some peace with everything but apparently, the universe had other plans.

Whatever.
