So, I decided to go to the gym last night with Kari, despite my pain in my hips and legs. I'm thinking "No big deal. They say exercise is good for Fibro."
Well, they lied.
Holy pain Batman! Kari and I started on a machine that looks like this:
Kari RAVES about this machine. She feels that she gets the best work out from this machine. Okay, no problem, I can do it. Wrong. I was lucky to last the 15 minutes I did. My hips were SCREAMING and I had to go backwards instead of forwards (I'm weird, I know) to even be able to do it. After about 10 minutes, I was literally bent over the machine, gripping the handles for my life, trying to make it through 5...more....minutes. Kari normally does 30 minutes on this Chinese torture device and under normal circumstances, I probably could have done it.
We moved to the treadmill after that, which was still painful but not horrific like the machine above was. It was still quite painful for me to last 15 minutes on the treadmill and I consider that pretty low impact. I mean, hello, it's just walking.
I came home, opened a Coke, took a darvocet (praise God for Tina) and chatted with Sarah for awhile. I eventually peeled myself from the chair (literally) and stumbled into the bath. The darvocet and hot bath didn't even touch my pain. Laying down did help and I'm much better this morning. The pain is there but tolerable. I really thought I'd never go to sleep last night, I couldn't get comfortable but...I was able to fall asleep and slept pretty well. :)
The weather is improving for the weekend so I hope my pain stays at bay. Dang, yesterday was the worst.
Now that my moan/complain/whine fest is over, here are my positives:
1. Chat time with Sarah
2. Gym (believe it or not, I'm proud of myself for going 2 times in ONE week)
3. Invite to Cali (that I'm considering taking up...)
4. Coke
5. Hot bath
