I brought in the New Year with my glorious nephews, oh and Cindy & Steve too! We exchanged our Christmas presents and then watched Despicable Me while waiting for the New Year to ring in.
Cindy came up with a really neat idea about lucky foods so I took grapes and some cheese and crackers. Cindy provided ham, cheese dip (yum!), salad, oranges and…..I’m sure I’m forgetting something. It was good! I stuffed myself with cheese dip (that I had to fight Jakob for) and ham (which I had to fight the animals for). At midnight, I ate my 12 grapes and received hugs from Jakob, Cindy and Steve. (Bobby had already crashed by then.) We also played Scene It and sat on the porch (it was almost 60 degrees here!!!!) catching up and gossiping.
It was a really nice way to bring in the New Year and I hope we can do it again this year.
I relaxed the rest of the weekend, did some shopping, cleaned my apartment, packed away my Christmas decorations and broke out the Valentine’s Day decorations. I didn’t scrap like I wanted to but I did organize some of my scrap stuff (thank you Ikea), and I got lots of pictures put in frames. It was a quiet, relaxing weekend that was much needed and I got a lot of things done.
My goals for the coming weeks:
• Make Valentine’s Day cards
• Clean out my office/spare room
• Get my desk set up and my crafting stuff all organized
• Re-start my diet/eat better
• Blog more
That’s it for now. I hope the new year is starting off well for everyone!
