I've made my bed for 2 days in a row now (I've impressed myself) and I've been really good about cleaning up after myself not letting things sit. I'm sure that will all wear off over time (haha) but right now, it's nice to do my dishes and pick up after myself.
There were a few glitches this weekend. My internet is not working. It worked just fine on Saturday afternoon and now, I can't get it to work at all. So, I have to call Time Warner this morning and have them fix it. Also, when I call people, it shows up on caller id's as "Susan Smith" which is obviously not my name. They'll have to fix that as well. Oh and my DVR doesn't work either. (sigh) My shower faucets leak so I'll call the landlord this morning about that. My kitchen pipe (under the sink) is leaking as well. The apartment hasn't been lived in, in quite sometime so I'm not upset, I just want it fixed. And honestly, it's kind of nice that I don't have to be responsibile to fix these things. I'm more irritated that I can't get on the internet. I have pictures to post and emails to send!
I got to meet SGT Steve on Friday. He came up from Cincinnati to help me move. I'm totally crazy about him. (Not in a "relationship" kind of way.) He's so great. We sat in my kitchen and talked for almost an hour before we started anything else and he told me stories about his deployments and what life is like as a soldier. And he's FUNNY! He had me cracking up. He's decided to work for a contractor overseas and leaves in about 3 weeks to go to Iraq. He'll be back in a year. I made him promise to let me see him before he left the country. He said he'd come back out before he left and I promised to make dinner.
Cindy and the boys came out yesterday to see my new place and to drop off presents! I got a new microwave, a stand up mixer, a kitchen timer, a dry erase board for my fridge and a Twilight glass. (Forgive me Cindy if I've forgotten anything!)
It was a good but super busy weekend! I got my grocery shopping done and everything put away. Tonight, I'm going to make spaghetti for dinner.
Brooklyn (my friend/neighbor Renee's daughter) bought me my first "official" house warming gift out of her birthday money. She got me a lamp for my office. And then, Renee and Brooklyn brought me breakfast Saturday morning. I got to meet my other neighbors, Kevin & Jen and Jeff, a guy in the apartment complex next to mine.
I still need:
broom
cordless phone(s)
dust pan
DVD player (for living room)
mop
plunger
wine rack
I'll pick up some of those items when I get paid on Wednesday. I'm a little tight on cash right now. I'm not broke but it was a lot of "start up" cost to get moved in.
Brad and I barely talked this weekend and I didn't hear from him at all yesterday. I have a feeling that it's over. I'm hoping I'll be able to get season 1 & 2 of Grey's back since it's still at his apartment. It makes me sad. I really like him but maybe it's for the best.
So many people helped me this weekend, SGT Steve, Adam, Tina & her husband, Joanie and her husband, Renee, Brooklyn.....I think that's it. I'm so lucky and thankful to have the people in my life that I do. I will never be able to repay them for their help! I hope that when I send thank you cards, it shows how thankful I really am.
Off to eat my yogurt and start my Monday.
