Summer vs. Fall

You know, I love summer. I truly do. But, I can’t take the heat. Especially when the heat is over 110 with the heat index. It’s MISERABLE. You can’t go outside and enjoy the sunshine. Well, you can, if you have a death wish. And that’s what this summer has been like. We’ve reached a high of 90, almost daily and the humidity has been at it’s worst. I think the news said this morning that we’ve had over 29 days with temperatures over 90 degrees. UGH. There is something to be said for places that do not have any humidity. I know it’s still hot but the air isn’t like soup….heavy and thick.

It’s the last week of July. It’s hard to believe it’s almost August. Where has the summer gone? I have mixed feelings about it. I’m excited for fall, I’m excited for cooler temperatures, the leaves changing, the start of festivals, college football season, Grey’s Anatomy, the start of school (FOR ME!!!!), Halloween, Thanksgiving, Breaking Dawn, vacation….but I’m not excited about the time change, it getting darker sooner, snow, frigid temperatures, etc.

Okay, so it seems I’m more excited then I’m not. I just wish we could skip WINTER and go straight to spring. I think it’s the winter I’m dreading the most. I hope fall takes awhile before it disappears.

My fall does seem slightly jam packed so far, well, okay, “jam packed” for me anyway. I start school (which is an undertaking in itself), I’m taking the concealed carry weapon class with my mom, Metamora, my trip to Boise, my usual week off shopping excursion, yearly Maysville, KY trip with dad, Kristy Beddow’s wedding, Renee’s graduation, Amstan golf outing (which I’m working, not golfing), Edgewood craft show….I’m sure there is more that I’m forgetting but it seems like it’ll be a busy fall for me, which I’m looking forward to!
