Vampire or Werewolf?

I’ve watched Twilight and New Moon several times in the past weeks and it’s made me wonder, if you had to choose, would you be a vampire or a werewolf? Last night, as I was falling asleep, I wondered about each choice. (Hey, I live alone, what else do I have to do with myself as I lay in bed at night? Don’t answer that….)

As a werewolf, you’d live a fairly normal life I’d imagine. You’d be human 99% of the time, only becoming “furry” once a month or as you choose (depending on which legend/story you follow). You’d have way fast healing time as well as strength and speed matching any animal. You’d have a “pack” as a family, answering to only an “alpha”. And in my story, you’d get to be this giant (and I mean, giant) dog that is cuddly and cute and uber protective.

As a vampire….okay, no normal life for you. You’d have stone like features, statuesque to say the least. You’d have a diet of only blood (human or animal) and could only come out at night or sparkle during the day (again, depending on which legend/story you follow). However, you’d have supernatural speed and strength along with bonus abilities, such as mind reading, mind control, pain infliction or future seeing. You’d be locked into your age forever (permanently being 17 or 31) and you’d outlive all of your friends, family, enemies, etc. However, there is the immortality factor….living forever could have its perks. You’d be rich, get to see all the latest trends, travel the world…

So, I’m curious. If you had a choice, what would you choose?
