I’ve decided to go green. Yes, that’s right, I’m going green. I’ve been following the coolest blog for awhile now (Sarah turned me on to them) and I totally admire these people. They do really cool DIY stuff as well as help the planet and save money. What is there not to love about that? I’ve gotten some great ideas from their blog about helping out the plant, simple ways to save money, and how to clean in a snap, with green products. I’m all about not exposing myself to harmful chemicals. Plus, I think this might help with my allergies.
I’m committing myself to making my environment clean and simple. I’ve been bad about this in the past so I figure since I’m starting with a clean slate; I can make the commitment now. Plus, I’ve heard that your life closely resembles how your house/car looks. Well, ugh, my car is a MESS. So, while I’m working on making my apartment clean, organized and simple, I’ll be doing the same to my car!
So, yesterday, I picked up a few things at Target for cleaning my home, I bought Clorox Green Works products - dishwashing soap, disinfecting wipes and a all purpose cleaner. I also picked up Method's hand wash soap. I'd like to get a mop like this one since it's eco-friendly. And honestly, so far, I've not found that the "green" products are any more expensive then the other cleaning products. The Method hand soap was a bit pricey (I am used to buying it at Wal-Mart for like $1.00) but it's worth it in the end.
I'd also like to start recycling but since my landlord pays for the garbage removal, the city of Trenton will not allow me to have a recycle bin. I'm trying to figure out how I can recycle now without it being too much of a hassle.
I hope maybe this will inspire someone who reads this (the whole 3 of you) to maybe find ways of going green yourself. (Or you can roll your eyes at me and go back to whatever you are comfortable with.)
